Ricky Tyler collaborates with Alpha P on ‘Peachnut’

DEF JAM SIGNEE RICKY TYLER SETS THE TONE FOR HIS NEW ALBUM WITH ‘PEACHNUT’

Ricky Tyler may be one of the most diverse artists you’ll ever experience. The former model and actor easily hops between rap and R&B. The South African musician recently joined Universal Music Africa, under the umbrella of Def Jam Africa.

On this new single, featuring Nigerian musician and UMG signee Alpha P, the two sing of infatuation and unrequited love. The disco-inspired R&B tune, ‘Peachnut’, is an open invitation to explore Ricky Tyler’s world. Between his passionate lyricism, Ricky displays his versatility-adding a fresh touch to the record by dropping some slick bars. Peachnut perfectly encapsulatesRicky Tyler’s brand of R&B -modern, inventive and inescapably melodic

She must be bad for me/She plays these games with me/ Don’t play hide and seek/ Cos I know when the sun comes up she treats me like a stranger. – He sings.

Paired with Alpha P’s striking, yet distinct vocals, Peachnut is a sweet aural dessert.

Born Bokamoso Molema, Ricky Tyler, made his debut in music in 2016 with the single ‘Swerve‘. The buzz of the track led to a remix by popular South African producer Tshego. Peachnut is a precursor to Ricky Tyler’s album, Small World, which will be released on 17 July 2020.
