Grammy award nominee Guiltybeatz is well known for his production on Beyonce’s Black is King album, but the Ghanaian native has an eclectic belt of productions tightly wound around his waist and he’s not letting up now.
Born in Palermo, Italy and raised in Ghana, Ronald Banful AKA Guiltybeatz has thrown a spotlight on Ghanaian music in an uncanny way.
His first breakout track was Jesse Jagz ft Wizkid Bad Girl and Mr Eazi’s Sample You. Akwaaba featuring Mr Eazi, Patapaa and Pappy Kojo became his first solo hit track. He dabbled between African dance music and Afropop creating the viral hit with Joey B and Falz, Iyabo as well as King Promises Sisa. Before then he had a bevvy of production credits on Mr Eazi’s Lagos to London.
In 2020 Guiltybeatz released Different, a 12-track dance and amapiano album that incorporated his DJing skills as the tracks seamlessly mixed into each other.
Guiltybeatz got his Global breakout working on Beyonce’s Black is King and snagging three production credits on the album. In 2021, he produced all but one track on breakout Nigerian star Tems’ If Orange was A Place EP.
Undoubtedly, Guiltybeatz is a brilliant producer. His style bounces between high-energy African dance to mellow soft Afropop and afro-fused R&B.
