Dix is Hot Volume 27

THE DIVERSITY OF THE NEW AFRICAN SOUND in DIX IS HOT VOLUME 27

Dix is Hot Volume 27 takes us on a journey of sounds. We explore the soundscapes of Cote d’IvoireNairobi and Nigeria, taking roots in Afrobeats, R&B, Dance and more.

EA Wave producer and DJ Ukweli features Karun and Jason Kalinga on an 80s inspired “Fools Paradise”, while Nigeria’s DJ Xclusive pops out the banger that is “Gimme Love” featuring Duncun Mighty.

Be inspired by  “10,000 hours”, produced by Sam Sichangi and Ukweli and featuring Blinky Bill and Kerby, which is dedicated to  all the people putting in their 10,000 hours.

Where Tomi Thomas’ “Shaken” is a powerful pronouncement, Ivorian producer OG West’s “La Danse” makes itself up to be  strong statement.

Omagz’s “Track 3”, off the A Side of his GTNALT project produced by Duggie makes for a strong contender for late night driving music. Tim Lyre’s Supplier, featuring July Drama is a cool slow wind jam.

If you like Chris Brown and Drake, then you’ll love “It’s a Good Life”, an optimistic tune by Milli. Ivorian OG WEST delivers on “La Danse”, an intricate tune which is a merger of sounds. On Fortemente Verão Whoisrachid employs southern American sounds for a smooth jam.

Finally, to announce Mafeni’s return, artist and producer Yinka Bernie recruits him for this smooth dedication to Mondays. The single, titled “Mondays”, sounds like what coconut and iced pineapples would sound like if they were music. It’s a refreshing single with a burst full of flavour.
