House Rules ft Moorsound
Moor Sound AKA Isaac Bempong, is based in Accra and has been producing for the last 2-3 Years, however he has been djing even longer. With a fresh ear for new music, Moor Sound had been playing at a wide variety of events including campus parties, clubs and weddings. He has also opened for acts such as Lil kesh, Sean Tizzle & Orezi.
Moor Sound spent all the free time he had outside of working parties & attending classes at KNUST to teach himself how to produce. Upon finishing school & moving back to Accra, Moor Sound signed a deal with RGG studios and is currently their DJ, producer & assistant Engineer. He has recently worked with Copta, Magnom, Bryan The Mensah, Kxng Joey, Zepora & Tinuke, just to name a few. “I really like a lot of 8o8s, pop melodies, electronic synths, and I make a lot of my beats faster than most people do, so the tempo’s up.” When more things drop, people will see that Moor Sound has got a different flavour and a lot more to offer the music scene in Ghana and beyond.
Get into it with Moorsound on this trap mix:
Where are you right now? Describe your surrounds. What do you see? What do you hear? What can you smell?
Haha, y’all follow me on the gram so y’all already know I be posted at RGG studios. In the engine room, listening to copta’s new EP, The Finer Things. All I smell is success baby, you dey barb.
What do you imagine people doing as they listen to this mix?
This one is easy. I see people turning up, going buck wild & being as expressive as possible. I definitely see the baddies twerking to this (s/o all my baddies one time, i love y’all for real). My body builders can also get them extra reps in with this mix psyching them. Every song in the mix is just how I like my records you know, fast paced. That’s my flavor & I always bring it to the table, whether on the track or at the party.
What are you looking forward to the most in 2018?
Man, I feel like this conversation came at a very good time, because the next interview I do will probably be totally different from this one. I’ve just been producing, trying to make as much music as possible & I can’t wait for everybody to hear what I’ve been working on. I’m ready to make that transition into being one of music’s legendary producers. I want to remembered as the best to ever do it, which is kinda relative at the end of the day, but it’s just been my goal ever since.
Why did you choose to name your project Finer Things?
I suck at this question man, haha. I guess we wanted a name that embodied everything we wanted for ourselves at the time we were recording the project. The project is mainly centered around beautiful women, expensive taste & big dreams.
You have unlimited cash to spend in 30 minutes. You can’t save it, buy shares or buy property (land, houses etc), What are you getting?
Definitely stocking up some new sneakers, man! What?! All those virgil shenanigans & shit. Probably some Tom Sachs in there as well. Probably buy some stuff for the family too you know – it always feels great to spread the love.
If you were a new addition to a crayon box what colour would you be and why?
I’m probably gonna be that short pink crayon your daughter can’t put down & is fucking up the walls with lool. Pink is like a combination of red & white. Both colors add a little to its characteristics. It gets the list for action from the red color & the white color gives it an opportunity to achieve success & insight. Passion & power from the color red, softened with the purity & openess of the white color. More for Libra bit.ly/whBNNw Lmao!
Name 2 musicians people should look out for (African)
Copta & Kxng Joey. Simply put, it’s RGG Szn bitches . They are about to fuck so much shit up.
You’re a DJ for the villain and hero from the last movie you watched. Who are they and what are the first songs you’re playing for them?
Bruh! The last movie I watched was blade runner 2049 & it was long as hell lol! I watched it about 3 times. The hero, Officer K, defo needed some re-assurance that he’s as human as he believes, so Imma play him Bob Dylan’ s A Hard Rain Is Gonna Fall. Love, the Villain, is a badass so any kick ass tune will work, but Imma go with Bartier Bardi.
What kind of West African season are you? Rainy or Dry?Why?
Imma have to go with rainy season to be honest. All this drip on me, man can never lie & say I’m dry haha! I like to be unpredictable just like the rain in Ghana. Even when the sun is on steroids, it can still rain. I always like to come from nowhere, and leave people guessing & shit.
Describe how you want your 2018 to go with 3 songs.
A)We taking over we dey show Ghana!
B) All I do is win win win no matter what
c) We count Digits, digits, digits, digits, digits, digits, digits, digits, digits!
