Escape into Limbo this November

LIMBO // ACCRA is a collective of architects and artists whose focus is the support and advancement of local art that reflects the current state of modernity in Accra, Ghana. We see it every day, luxury shopping malls and concrete apartment blocks replacing older, more traditional neighborhoods throughout the city. Accra’s changing identity and influx of new developments are leaving its urban spaces in a state of limbo: awaiting modern futures while fossilized with the fragments of the past.

Our planned exhibition in November 2018, focuses on the narrative functions of luxury homes in the changing neighborhood of Adjiringanor, Accra and will be staged on-site at (and in collaboration with) an unfinished estate.

At LIMBO // ACCRA we believe in a self-produced revitalization process where citizens play an active role in the creation of public space through the visual arts. Each room of the estate will feature a local artist, designer, or cultural contributor, including Surf Ghana, Harmattan Rain, Serge Attukwei Clottey and more.
