DJ Antonio Cesar is a 21st century DJ and music producer originating from Chicago, the birthplace of house music. His mission is to connect South America and Africa through music.

Where are you right now? Describe your surroundings. What do you see? What do you hear? What can you smell?

I am in the boiler room of an apartment located in Chicago, Illinois, the birthplace of house music. The boiler room is full of darkness, pipes, and machines. I feel my breath reflecting off the protective COVID 19 mask while Chicago House Music plays in the background.

If you could name this mix, what would you call it?

The Birthplace of House: Chicago

What do you imagine people doing as they listen to this mix?

I imagine people nodding their heads, dancing, and working out to this mix. If my listeners are curious I am sure they might look up the history of Chicago House Music!

What’s your favourite self-isolation snack?

My favourite self-isolation snack is a spliff.

Describe yourselves with a line from a song.

“In da club before 11 o’clock, I’m trynna kick it, and I’m kind of early!”

If you could only choose one song to play every time you walked into a room for the rest of your life, what would it be?

If I could choose one song to play every time I walked into a room, I would choose “21st Century,” by Mr January. There is a line that goes, “Excuse me, I’m Coming Through,” with a badass beat in the background. Like YES! Excuse meeee, I’m coming through!

You wake in the last movie you watched as one of the characters. What movie is it, and which character are you?

Straight Outta Compton; Ice Cube.
I chose Ice Cube because he continued to pursue his career even though the people around him did not include him. This is a good lesson of staying motivated to follow my path regardless of the noise and naysayers around me.

Describe 2020 with an album. What album is it and why?

I would describe 2020 with an album called “Do You Love Me” by me, DJ Antonio Cesar. Like c’mon 2020, do you love me? It sure looks like you don’t! But seriously check out the project. It’s full of love, house, and juke vibes.
I like to listen to it while riding my bike or chilling with my eyes closed!
